I've Been Where You Are
When I moved from New York to Israel, something unexpected happened.
What had always been effortless for me — full command of language — suddenly became a struggle.
I found myself hesitating before speaking, planning every sentence, checking a thousand times how I sounded.
Not because I didn’t know what to say —
but because I was afraid of being judged as less professional.
For the first time in my life, I understood the gap
between who I knew I was
and how I felt I was being perceived.
That experience taught me something fundamental:
Confidence, presence, and clear expression shape how we show up in the world —
especially when we’re operating in a language or culture that isn’t our own.
Over time, I learned to rebuild confidence in a new language,
to stop translating in my head,
to find my voice again,
